Regular and dynamic QR codes
A regular QR code stores the web address itself, so once it is printed it cannot be changed. If the address changes, you have to make and print a new one. A dynamic QR code stores a short link instead. Scanning it opens the short link, which then sends people to your page. To change where it goes, you update the short link and the printed code stays the same.
When a dynamic QR code helps
It is useful on menus, flyers, business cards, posters, packaging, or anything that is hard to reprint once it is out. If a sign-up page moves or a menu gets a new version, you can just change the link. If the page will never change, a regular QR code works fine.
Making one on WebYore
Log in, choose QR Code on the home page, and paste your web address. You can change the colors or add a logo in the middle (PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 2 MiB), then download the PNG. To change the destination later, edit that short link in your account.
Before you print
Scan the printed code with a phone before sending a large print run. If you change the colors or add a logo, keep a dark pattern on a light background; low contrast makes codes hard to scan. If the short link is deleted or disabled, the QR code will stop working too.
